Algeco Benelux is an official partner of World Engineering Day 2026

World Engineering Day (WED) 2026 starts today in Jakarta, and Algeco Benelux, part of Modulaire Group, is proud to be selected as an official partner for the second year in a row.

Wat is WED 2026?

World Engineering Day 2026 is een wereldwijd initiatief dat een jaar lang aandacht vraagt voor de cruciale rol van engineering bij het behalen van de Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoelstellingen van de Verenigde Naties, ook wel de Sustainable Development Goals of SDG’s genoemd.

Tijdens deze campagne worden diverse evenementen, films, speciale reportages en nieuwsartikelen georganiseerd en gepubliceerd om te laten zien hoe engineering bijdraagt aan duurzame oplossingen voor mondiale uitdagingen.

WED is een officiële internationale dag, uitgeroepen door UNESCO. De organisatie is in handen van de World Federation of Engineering Organisations, afgekort WFEO. Deze wereldwijde federatie vertegenwoordigt leden uit meer dan 100 landen en meer dan 30 miljoen ingenieurs wereldwijd.

Champions of engineering

WED 2026 has an estimated global reach of more than 100 million individuals, and provides a springboard for governments, UN-associated organisations, policymakers, educators and leaders in the public and private sectors to raise awareness of the importance of engineering around the world. It’s operated by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO), the global body that spans members from more than 100 countries and represents over 30 million engineers.
