Joris Billen
Meet Joris, our technical specialist who has been working in the Beringen office for a year now. Due to his hands-on mentality, he gained a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of how to design, construct, and maintain modular units that meet the clients' needs.
When he's not working, Joris enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, whether he's playing tennis, fishing or skiing. He also loves taking his wife and kids out for dinner to explore new restaurants and cuisines. Despite his busy schedule, Joris always makes time for his hobbies and his family, and he is constantly seeking out new challenges and experiences.
How would you describe your role as a technical specialist engineer in the modular construction business?
As a technical specialist engineer in the modular construction business, my role involves providing technical expertise and support to our clients, as well as ensuring that our products and services meet their requirements and specifications. I work closely with our sales team to understand the needs of our clients and provide them with the right solutions. I also collaborate with our production and installation teams to ensure that the modular units we deliver meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
How would your colleagues describe you?
My colleagues would describe me as an easy to work with person, who always keeps his calm, even under stressful circumstances. My colleagues appreciate the fact that I always considerate of others' time when committing to project deadlines.

If you needed to change jobs for a day, which other department would you like to work in?
If I needed to change jobs for a day, I would go for a day in the life of an outside sales colleague. Standing in their shoes might give me valuable insight into the sales process and the customer experience, which can help better understand the client’s needs and preferences.
It also helps to develop stronger communication and interpersonal skills by interacting with customers and learning how to effectively pitch and sell products.
Finally, the experience can foster a greater sense of collaboration and teamwork between the sales and technical teams, which can ultimately lead to better outcomes for the entire company. We all work towards the same goal: “Creating smart spaces for people to live, work and learn”
